MIKI was sold on Feb 3, 1976 to Haastrup Line, Apapa, Nigeria. Sailed from Las Palmas on Sep 4, 1976; arrived Apapa on Sep 24, 1976; the rest is silence according to my Finnish, most reliable, source.

Who has details of this RIVAL lying at Stockholm? She is surely a Dutch built inland-trading ship.

The first photo shows the one from 1950, the second - the one from 1975.

Hello Ben,
as you already know the previous history of her (ex Cranmere,Tichborne,Derwentwater) she traded in Finland as ULRIKA between Borgå and Helsinki on the sand trade until 1987 when she was sold to Olof Gädda in Vasa and became MÅNVIKEN. She was laid up in Turku with no name and never traded again. In 1991 she was sold and converted to a pub near Naantali on an island where her main engine was removed, a beautiful Crossley diesel. Around 1993 she appeared in Turku again as a restaurant, under the name WANHA RAHTILAIVA (Old cargo ship in Finnish). Today she is still at the same location. I remember sailing on her once in 1985 and later of course visited her for a beer several times in Turku. Unfortunately little of her original appearance remain today. The aft cabins have all been removed, only the old wheelhouse remains.
I have photos but since I am again at sea and at home I have no scanner I am unable to post any.

Hello Jan, many thanks for the interesting history of the Ulrika after her sale in 1987.
Perhaps we meet each other during the "Wischhafen Harbour Festival" on 21/22 August 2010.
